Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston in Texas, at her mother's dance studio. As a young girl of 2 she was the first to appear on television, as a child in The Don Mahoney Kids Trooper show. After ten years in singing and dance lessons with her mom and sister, she traveled into L.A. to try and determine if a show-business career was feasible. In just two short months, she got her first paid job, singing on the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. "I've used my singing and dancing training to a great extent," she says. It's a discipline-building experience that comes through this training is beneficial to actors." The first time she acted was in My Three Sons. This was then followed by Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. as well as Hawaii Five-O. Over the decades she has been in over 40 series For all her success in television and films O'Toole's greatest passion is the theatre. After her run of six years on Smallville was done, to dedicate herself to the theater. It's exactly what she has been doing since the start of the decade. When she moved into New York, she had her first performance in The Sea Gull. Her appearances have been in various Off-Broadway productions. Among them are Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
