Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. The traits she displayed were normal to a person born in Ireland. by talented parents and a loving family. Maureen was welcomed into this cherished haven in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin business, and held shares of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as young and became very adept in them. The combination of this passion and her gift to perform was impressive. That was apparent when she was awarded every Feis for theatre and drama the Irish had to offer. As she reached the age of 14 the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her passion for classical theatre as well as singing opera.
